Dodging Traffic!

Wow....a long day of walking and exploring the city of Hanoi.  Breakfast was on the rooftop of our hotel.  You can order anything you like: pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon or even Pho.

Walked over to the hospital to see where I will be spending my days next week.  Met some of the Vietnamese nurses, saw their 4 bed recovery room and observed their post-op care.

Then, off to the bank to exchange monies, then more walking.  Motorbikes everywhere.  Be careful crossing the street.  We saw the Catholic Cathedral,  cooking on the street, school children holding on to each other's t-shirts, and more motorbikes.  We finally went and ate at a lakeside cafe, then back to the hotel for a nap.

We have the water puppet show tonight, dinner, then back to bed.

We hope to go to Mass for Easter Sunday tomorrow, and more sightseeing.

Nap time now.  More posts to come.

Addendum:  FYI to my nurse friends: the small vial in the picture says "paracetamol" which is tylenol.  When I asked the nurse what was in the vial he said "a type of morphine".  The "morphine" was dripping in quickly, which made me a bit nervous.  In looking up the drug in my handy-dandy drug book that I brought with me, it actually is tylenol, in IV form.   Interesting....

  1. Jackie: You're taking great photos, I love the suction machine! How's the weather? Supposed to be 64 degrees and sunny, saturday in Seattle, hopefully.

  2. The weather is hot and humid, close to 80 degrees. You need to come next time, we can come together. Start saving now. It is quite an eye opener.
